Diversity Forum 2022

This year's theme is "Rewiring Our Systems: Transforming the Intersections of Inequity."

The forum will feature a dynamic array of keynote programs and community-led sessions that aim to develop social equity consciousness and systems thinking approaches. Programs will address the intersections of social identities and cultivate models for advancing social justice.

The forum is entirely virtual and is free and open to the public.

Workshop Proposals

Workshop Proposals have closed.  You may still submit a proposal for a virtual poster presentation.

Participant Outcomes

  • Reflect on the impact of intersectionality and how our socialization informs our biases and positions us to, knowingly or unknowingly, perpetuate structural oppression, social injustices, and systemic inequities across social identity groups.
  • Cultivate social equity consciousness and collective capacity to embrace and engage different cultures, perspectives, and people.
  • Foster systems thinking approaches and multicultural coalitions of support to advance models for structural liberation, social justice, and systemic equity

Art of Diversity

In conjunction with the 2022 Diversity Forum, the University of Pittsburgh Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and Pitt’s Center for Creativity present the third annual Art of Diversity Showcase.

We invite all members of the Pitt and regional communities to submit creative work of any kind, from visual art to writing to performance. We’re looking for pieces that expand diversity consciousness, particularly an awareness and understanding of intersectionality, and that embrace and celebrate minoritized cultures and perspectives.

Work will be displayed on the Showcase gallery, and on University web and social media channels, with artist attribution. Deadline for submissions is Friday, July 1, 2022.

All entries are eligible for award distinctions. Awardees will be announced during the 2022 University of Pittsburgh Diversity Forum in the last week of July.

Submit a creative work.
