General Title IX Overview (Faculty, Staff, Students)
This training is designed to promote a common and consistent understanding and application of the University of Pittsburgh policies, standards, and processes with regard to Title IX. The training facilitator will address required timeliness all potential responders must adhere to upon becoming aware of sexual violence, sexual harassment, relationship violence, stalking and discrimination. The 60 minute presentation will also discuss how to identify harassment and responding to disclosures. This workshop can be scheduled for 30 minutes or 60 minutes.
Preventing and Responding to Sexual Misconduct (Faculty, Staff, Students)
Similar to the general Title IX overview, this workshop will promote a common and consistent understanding and application of the University of Pittsburgh policies, standards, and processes with regard to Title IX. In addition, participants will discuss the results of the AAU climate survey. This workshop will include discussions around sexual harassment and how to support survivors of sexual misconduct. Finally, participants will learn about resources available to all community members. This workshop is highly interactive and uses scenarios and videos. This workshop is typically 90 minutes.
Bystander Intervention for Graduate Students or Professionals
Bystander Intervention Training is a discussion-based workshop designed to help participants recognize and respond to sexual harassment and other types of harassment and discrimination in an academic and professional setting. Participants will learn tips for how to intervene and how to report incidents or get help. Case scenarios discussed will be relevant and tailored to the group. This workshop is 90 minutes.
Bystander Intervention for Faculty and Staff
Bystander Intervention Training is a discussion-based workshop designed to help participants recognize and respond to sexual harassment and other types of harassment and discrimination in an academic and professional setting. Faculty and staff participants will learn tips for how to intervene and how to report incidents or get help. Case scenarios discussed will be relevant and tailored to the group. This workshop is typically 90 minutes.
Supporting Trans and Non-Binary Community Members (Faculty, Staff, Graduate Students)
This session will provide participants with the opportunity to practice inclusive language, discuss societal barriers to inclusion and gain tools that can be used in their own department. Facilitators will provide basic information and terminology during the first part of the session. Next, participants will discuss a relevant scenario. The session will end with an overview and discussion of resources and tools that can be used to create more inclusive spaces. This workshop is 60 minutes.
Preventing Discrimination and Sexual Violence: Title IX, VAWA and the Clery Act for Faculty and Staff (ONLINE ONLY)
All new staff must take the Preventing Harassment and Discrimination online training aimed at promoting a respectful and inclusive work and academic environment. The training must be completed during your provisional period. You can find the training at my.pitt.edu
