PERSAD

PERSAD CENTER is a human service organization whose mission is to improve the well-being of the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning) communities, and the HIV/AIDS communities. We serve our target populations and their loved ones, cradle to grave, across Western Pennsylvania, with service centers in Pittsburgh, Washington, and Erie.

The Gay and Lesbian Community Center (GLCC)

The Gay & Lesbian Community Center of Pittsburgh (GLCC) provides gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals, their families and supporters in Western Pennsylvania with resources and opportunities to promote visibility, understanding, and equality within the LGBT communities and the community at large. The GLCC will work toward these goals through education, social support, networking, and advocacy.

Name Change Project: Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund

The Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund's Name Change Project provides free legal name change services to transgender people through partnerships with some of the nation’s most prestigious law firms and corporate law departments.

The Trevor Project

The mission of The Trevor Project is to end suicide among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning young people. The organization works to fulfill this mission through four strategies:

  1. Provide crisis counseling to LGBTQ young people thinking of suicide.
  2. Offer resources, supportive counseling and a sense of community to LGBTQ young people to reduce the risk that they become suicidal.
  3. Educate young people and adults who interact with young people on LGTBQ-competent suicide prevention, risk detection and response.
  4. Advocate for laws and policies that will reduce suicide among LGBTQ young people.

Lambda Legal

Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and everyone living with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.
