A Town Hall: Equitable Casting

This town hall will address issues of representation, racial justice in theatre, the critical “role” of playwright/author’s intent, the erasure of voices and stories, and the consequences of cultural appropriation, with the goal of generating strategies towards equity in casting practices and programming in our regional theatre community and beyond.

The event will include a panel as well as interactive break-out sessions. Panelists include: Adil Mansoor, theatre artist/director, Hatch Arts Collective and Dreams of Hope Gab Cody, playwright, regional representative for the Dramatist Guild Monteze Freeland, actor/director/playwright, founder and artistic director of The LAB Project Sol Crespo, actor/director/writer/producer and creative partner with Flux Theatre ensemble in NYC Facilitated by Diep Tran, journalist and associate editor at American Theatre magazine.
